Virtual-Reality

• Virtual-Reality (VR) or Visual-simulation brings to life static 3-dimensional objects in a synthetic environment that encompasses intelligence and behaviours in a real-time environment.
• Virtual environments can take a variety of forms from Immersive - users are totally immersed into the world through use of head mounted displays HMD - through industry standard desktop systems running Windows, Linux and Unix Operating systems to Projected VR - making use of real-time 3D graphics to build cave environments for large scale collaborative design and experience's
• The VR experience can be further enhanced through the incorporation of peripheral devices that enhance the other senses such as Sound (3D audio systems), Touch (haptic response), Grasp ( pinch gloves), position (motion trackers and positional sensors) Navigation (joysticks and motion tracking devices), Interpretation (3D projection and imaging) Visualisation (immersive headmount display).
• Industry standards for data exchange allow for Visual Simulation to be a progressive development of existing technology infrastructure. ODBC compliance, DXF and VRML are all standards that provide access to data sources created over a period of time.
